Flux: screencast + demos + launch/pricing details

No hard feelings, I only want you on this list if you want to be here. ❤️ --- Alright, let's get down to business. Flux is dropping in less than 24 hours 😮. Let's goooo It's hard to get a feel for using Flux by just looking at the documentation, so to make you love it as much as I do, I made a screencast where I build out a real app (or part of one at least). In the video, I start with a blank slate and build up the layout, pages, forms, tables, dropdowns, modals, toasts, and everything else you ever wanted in a web app. 😅 As I was recording this video I started realizing that the experience of using Flux is much like digging around a Lego bin. It's this thing you go to when you need inspiration or to find an exact piece you have in mind for your project. We also put together a handful of demo pages to give you a better idea of what your Flux app might look like. 💅 Check em' out: As I've been building these demos for launch, I've been shoving extra goodies into Flux at the last minute like these methods for controlling modals directly from your Livewire component: I also added an entirely new Toast component with the following syntax: And there's so much more where that came from. Now that the train is on the tracks, we're going to keep adding new variants to existing components as well as building entirely new ones as we go. In addition to the 26+ current components, here's a list of some new ones on the roadmap:
I think it bears repeating that Flux's internals are just as clean and modern as its visuals. Every component (including the JavaScript parts) was hand-written using modern browser technologies to be lightweight, fast, and efficient. Every component looks good in light and dark mode. You can control everything with your keyboard or a screen reader without ever touching a mouse. We prioritized quality and accessibility at every level, not just the surface level. --- Ok, so how much is this thing going to cost? Well, my plan all along was to mimic the pricing of projects like Laravel Nova:
However, after hearing your feedback and just generally wanting to get this project into as many hands as possible, I'm switching it up for launch to make purchasing a "no brainer". Here's the launch pricing:
After launch I'll probably go back to something with recurring revenue like the original pricing, but for launch I really wanted this to be an insta-buy. 🤑 If I pre-ordered, can I upgrade to unlimited? Totally. At launch, you'll be able to log into the dashboard, view your pre-order license, and upgrade it to the unlimited tier. Are there discounts available for countries with weaker currencies? Yes, at launch, you can email support@fluxui.dev for a "PPP" (Purchasing Power Parity) discount. Are there any discounts for existing Livewire/Alpine subscribers? You bet. Yep! There will be pricing tiers with various seat numbers with the ability to swap seats at any time. --- I can't express how excited I am for this project. This has truly been the missing piece in the Livewire story.
