Laracon, Livewire, and other stuff...

Hey You,

How are things? Good? Good.

What's that? What have I been working on?

Well Livewire V3 of course!

Yeah, it's a complete ground-up rewrite of the entire framework.

Why would I waste a bunch of time rewriting something that works great already?

Well first, I don't like your tone. Second, yeah... I know, it seems like a waste of time, but it's one of those "paying off tech-debt" kinda things.

Basically, there's a zillion really cool things I want to add to Livewire, but the current architecture either won't allow it, or it would make the codebase way too gnarly and complex.

But what's done is done. I'm way too far down that road to go back, and guess what? It's pretty kick-ass.

And guess other what? I'm gonna show you everything at Laracon Online in like two weeks (Sept 14th), so fire up your internet modem and come check it out!

So yeah, that's what's been going on over here.

Besides Livewire and Laracon, I've been hanging out with an extremely cute baby boy, fishing when I'm not hanging with said boy, and otherwise, avoiding every homeowner project I can.

Oh yeah, there's Alpine Components too. If you missed it, we're rebuilding Headless UI for Alpine and currently offering it as a part of Alpine Components. It's an ongoing project you can dig into here if you want: https://alpinejs.dev/components

While I'm selling you things, I've mentioned the "Livewire Partners Program" to you before I'm sure, but just a reminder: If you work for a company (or own one) that depends on Livewire heavily, we can save you money by giving you expert advice, bugfix priority, debugging help, insider info and other cool stuff. Sign up here: https://forms.reform.app/Lk3ScW/livewire-partners/vpttqp

Well that's all folks, hopefully see you at Laracon, otherwise, catch you on the flippity-flip.

Peace out,

Caleb
